Finding the meaning in it all – Dr. Jo Mitchell | EP63 recap

Enter the Mind Room.

For individuals their mission is to help people live a healthy, meaningful, and connected life. Through therapy, coaching, workshops, and events, we want to inspire and empower individuals to navigate life’s joys, stressors, sorrows, and opportunities.

For organisations they believe that a healthy and engaged team is essential for organisations to thrive.
Whether you are individual or organisation we all require a sense of meaning, connection and long to feel a sense of contribution. That’s what we are here to talk about today with Director and Co- founder Jo Mitchell.

In the show we dive into the challenges that we all have been thrown into during Covid, particularly hard for those in Melbourne where we have been exposed to consistent lock downs for two years, how has this affected people, organisations, and the connections between both. We spoke about the role of the organisation in the wellbeing of its people and just why its so critical for companies to take an interest in how their people are travelling in terms of mental health.

For your business to thrive you need to plan for the wellbeing of your people and culture. Doing a staff survey, offering a meditation class, crossing your fingers and wishing for the best just doesn’t cut it anymore. Most leaders understand this, they just aren’t sure how to get started. That’s where the Mind Room steps in.

This is how the Mind Room creates a wellbeing strategy for your company
1. Look, listen, ask. First, they identify what data you have and what you already do (staff surveys, policies, processes). They talk to a diverse range of staff to understand the challenges and opportunities, using a qualitative interview process.
2. Build the strategy. Next, they write your wellbeing strategy informed by all the data you and your team provided and our knowledge of evidence-based best practice. They make a clear and actionable series of recommendations.
3. Prioritise and implement. Together, with you they review and prioritise the recommendations, create a timeline and identify the resources needed to bring you wellbeing strategy to life. You may want to steer the strategy from here, or we can continue to support you with the implementation phase.
